Dare to go on a mini-adventure!
I love to travel and explore new places! But with a hectic job and a 2
year-old at home, it’s tough to take long trips to far-and-away exciting
places. So yesterday I decided to go on a mini-adventure. My husband was
nice enough to take care of our daughter for a few hours and I took the
rainy afternoon off to explore some less-than-entirely-familiar
neighborhoods and streets in the city. Yes, this was a super, super
mini-adventure and I can’t report any excitement beyond seeing some
interesting people, buildings and stores, but it was quite refreshing.
So this week, I dare you to go on a mini-adventure!
Spend a few hours exploring an unknown neighborhood in your city.
Take a one-time class in something you don’t know anything about
(cooking, glass blowing, knitting, you name it!)
Invite a friend for a half-day trip out of town – go hiking, rafting,
hot air ballooning!
Take your taste buds on an adventure and try out a cuisine that you know
little about.
Create a time-capsule with your family and find a place to bury it
together.
Your mini-adventure can be more or less exciting and extraordinary
depending on how much time and energy you have, but the key is to go on
one and do it soon. Life is short – don’t let it be boring!
